Payroll

Payroll that runs on time — and files itself.

The problem

Payroll is unforgiving. A missed deposit or a late filing means penalties, and the rules in California don't leave much room for 'I forgot.' Most owners either overpay a big provider or lose evenings to it themselves.

What's included

  • Scheduled pay runs with direct deposit
  • Federal and California payroll tax deposits, made on time
  • Quarterly filings (941, DE 9 / DE 9C) and year-end (940, W-2s)
  • New-hire reporting and contractor 1099 preparation
  • Payroll posted straight into your books — no double entry
  • Employee pay stubs and records in one place

Who it's for

Businesses with 1–15 employees who want payroll handled by the same person who keeps the books, not a separate call center.

How it connects

Because payroll and bookkeeping live together, your labor cost shows up correctly in your financials and your job costing — automatically.

Questions

Common questions

How many employees can you handle?

Comfortably up to about 15. Beyond that we’ll talk about whether a dedicated payroll platform makes more sense, with us still managing it.

Do you handle multi-state payroll?

Single-state (California) is standard. Multi-state is possible but quoted separately because of the added registrations and filings.

What if I already use Gusto or QuickBooks Payroll?

Great — we can run it inside the tool you already have, or move it into QuickBooks during onboarding. Either way, it posts to your books automatically.
